Sr. Cloud Solution Designer; BI

Overview

The Senior Solution Designer is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across all technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The Senior Consultant, Application Development provides technical leadership to develop accurate steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs.

The role also provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams, and makes technology selection decisions in situations where business requirements are not completely defined.

• You will be joining the Enterprise Technology team within CIBC as the Sr. Cloud Solution Designer and will be a key part of an innovative, first-to-market technology culture.
• Contribute to key strategies such as digital transformation, cloud migration, and automation.
• Deliver and manage enterprise-wide BI services to a broad CIBC user community as part of the Enterprise Business Intelligence Technology team.
• Continuously explore and evaluate emerging BI technology platforms and cloud solutions.
• Facilitate easy-to-use, customer-centric BI services.

• Collaborative Development:
  Contribute to BI team goals by collaborating with other functional teams and seek improvements in functionality, stability, capacity, and performance of BI services.
• Programming Ability:
  Perform, coordinate, and facilitate changes to services as required. Develop and deliver BI reports, dashboards, and workflows for the home department and business partners. Provide guidance to users on features and capabilities to support timely solution delivery. Strive to automate relevant processes for efficiency and cost savings.
• Project Delivery and Influence:
  Actively participate in project activities and deliverables to ensure high-quality solutions aligned with business and project requirements. Monitor production and user acceptance testing support to troubleshoot complex problems in services and underlying technologies.

• 5+ years of cloud solution design and implementation experience.
• Good understanding of Azure cloud system architecture and cloud-based data platform solutions. Experience with BI platforms and systems (Power BI/Fabric, Databricks, Alteryx, SAS Viya). Understanding of underlying technology infrastructure and concepts of service availability, capacity, and service continuity management.
• Strong experience with various databases (SQL). General understanding of cloud computing and application integration (JSON, RESTful APIs / web services).
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills; able to influence and inspire outcomes through teamwork.
• Digitally savvy with a drive to seek innovative solutions and adapt to evolving tools and trends.
