Job Description

WSP is currently seeking a Strategic Pursuits Manager for our Transportation & Infrastructure business line. Working within our Strategic Pursuits and Alternative Project Delivery group (SP+APD), this internal client‑facing role will support implementation of strategic initiatives and manage the win cycle (Capture Management, Expression of Interest, Statements of Qualifications, Requests for Qualifications, Requests for Proposal) of major opportunities. The role involves interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to develop winning proposals and reporting to the Strategic Pursuits Director.

Impact
  • Co‑coordinate implementation of strategic initiatives with the Strategic Pursuits Director.
  • Manage the win cycle of major projects, from developing capture strategy to negotiating schedules and articulating win themes.
  • Review and track requirements to ensure compliance with bid guidance documentation.
  • Develop content—writing, proofreading, formatting—and manage input from technical subject matter experts.
  • Develop work plans, delivery schedules, facilitate meetings and workshops, create meeting agendas, respond to critical correspondence, and collect lessons learned.
  • Maintain SP+APD content libraries for historic project information, past submittals, statistics, and lessons learned.
  • Participate in internal and client bid‑management committees and colour reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) to relay critical information and manage expectations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including senior management, shared services, and multi‑disciplinary technical teams.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups that support strategic initiatives.
  • Research, capture, and analyze industry intelligence (opportunities, competitors, partners) to improve processes, procedures, and best practices.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Five or more years of experience in proposal development or a similar environment; preference for experience in engineering consulting or professional services firms.
  • Understanding of alternative delivery contact models, including Design‑Build, Public‑Private Partnership, Progressive Design‑Build, Progressive P3, Alliance, and IPD, is desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent work experience in project management, construction management, engineering, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong project‑management skills, with the ability to establish priorities, set and manage schedules, and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling continuous interaction with team members, project leadership, and external clients or stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and cloud‑based technology;
    Adobe Suite is an asset.
  • APMP, PMP, or a similar designation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint document management is an asset.
Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 – $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 – $124,900

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
