Our client is actively seeking a bright and enthusiastic Graduate Data Scientist to join their growing analytics team in Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA. As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will work under the guidance of senior data scientists to analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and extract actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will gain hands‑on experience with various data science tools and techniques, contribute to ongoing projects, and learn from experienced professionals in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from various sources.
  • Support the development and implementation of statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Help build and test predictive models under the supervision of senior data scientists.
  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings and insights.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and contribute to data‑driven solutions.
  • Learn and apply new data science techniques and tools.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on data analysis strategies.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the analysis process.
  • Assist in documenting methodologies and results.
Qualifications
  • Recent Masters or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn).
  • Familiarity with SQL and database querying.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude toward acquiring new skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is an advantage but not required.
  • Previous internship or project experience in data science is highly desirable.
