Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Salesforce Dev Ops Engineer to support audit and change‑management requirements. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in Role- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using Git‑based workflows
- Manage multi‑environment release strategies (Dev, QA, UAT, Pre‑Prod, Prod)
- Coordinate scheduled releases, hotfixes, and emergency deployments
- Ensure deployment activities follow audit, security, and compliance standards
- Manage Salesforce metadata lifecycle using source control (Git)
- Handle sandbox strategy (creation, refresh, data masking)
- Resolve deployment conflicts related to:
- Profiles and Permission Sets
- Record Types & Page Layouts
- Flows, Apex, and dependencies
- Recommend best practices to reduce deployment failures and rework
- Partner with Salesforce Developers, Admins, QA, and Platform teams
- Provide guidance on Dev Ops‑friendly Salesforce design patterns
- Document release processes, runbooks, and rollback procedures
- 10+ years of overall work experience in related field
- 5+ years of experience with Salesforce & Dev Ops:
- Strong experience with Salesforce metadata deployments
- Experience with Git‑based source control
- Understanding of Salesforce limits, metadata dependencies, and deployment constraints
- Experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab, etc.)
- Understanding of branching strategies (feature, release, hotfix)
- Familiar with automated testing and validation concepts
- Hands‑on experience with Salesforce Dev Ops tools such as Gearset, Copado, Auto Rabit, or equivalent
- Salesforce Platform Knowledge:
- Apex & Triggers
- Flows (Before/After Save)
- Permission Sets vs Profiles
- Record Types, Page Layouts, and Security model
- Ability to troubleshoot deployment failures and dependency issues
- Salesforce Platform Developer experience
- Experience with Unlocked Packages / Managed Packages
- Exposure to Salesforce DX
- Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (banking, insurance, healthcare)
- Salesforce certifications (PD1, Advanced Admin, Dev Ops‑related certs)
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate and work closely with external vendors
- Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction
- Valuable time management and organizational skills to effectively manage high‑scale project
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required
