Azure Cloud Admin

Our client requires a cloud administrator for administration, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise cloud environments, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and Azure VMware Solution (AVS). The resource will ensure the secure, reliable, and efficient delivery of cloud infrastructure services while aligning with organizational governance, security, and compliance requirements.

• Administer and support Azure resources (VMs, networking, storage, identity, backup, monitoring).
• Support Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environments and hybrid connectivity.
• Implement and maintain Azure security controls (RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA).
• Manage administrative roles and enforce least‑privilege access models.
• Support vulnerability remediation and compliance activities.
• Administer Azure AD (Entra ) and support implementation of security baselines, logging, configurations and audit readiness.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Power Shell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep/Terraform.
• Support subscription and landing zone governance.
• Administer Azure native cloud services, including virtual machines, app services, networking, monitoring, cost controls, storage backup and disaster recovery.
• Work closely with Managed Service Providers (MSP) while supporting integration of cloud operations and migrations from on‑prem to Azure/AVS (lift‑and‑shift).
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Winnipeg, Manitoba (Remote or Onsite). Work is onsite or remote with preference for onsite availability.

Ability to pass a criminal record check is required. An enhanced background check may be required for certain projects.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years infrastructure administration experience.
• Minimum of 23 years hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Service Models (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS).

• Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
• Experience with cost optimization and cloud financial management.
• Experience with identity governance (PIM, Entra  features).
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.
• Experience working in regulated or public sector environments.
