The Winnipeg Police Service is searching for a Data Scientist to analyze large datasets and identify trends crucial for operational decisions. This permanent position emphasizes leading data system integration and developing advanced analytics models while fostering a culture of data-driven practices. You will report directly to the Senior Data Scientist and may assume oversight responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct large-scale statistical data analysis to identify trends

• Lead integration of new data systems and applications

• Promote a data culture through subject matter expertise

• Research best practices for efficient data science solutions

• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Statistics

• 48 months experience with SQL, RStudio, or Python

• Proficiency in data analytics and statistical modeling

• Familiarity with Power BI and geographic information systems

• Ability to pass a background security check
