Job Title:

Senior Platform RUN Engineer

Location:

Hybrid - Ontario, must be in commutable distance from Downtown Ottawa and/or St. Laurent/East End

Reporting to:
Platform Engineering Team Lead

Hours of work:
Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM local time Monday through Friday. Flexibility of Working Hours dependent on location. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.

Overview:
This role will primarily focus on MAK.care, with supporting capabilities across the eProgesa, P.H.S/eTrace

Line, Cosmas, and eDRM product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Strives for continuous deployment of both applications and infrastructure on AWS platforms

Builds and configures the tools and scripts of our automated deployment pipeline

Participates actively in discussions with peers to identify issues and continually improve the overall system for everyone

Works with internal teams and third parties to ensure all our tools and platforms are meeting service-level objectives

Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively

Support NFR activities, including security hardening, load,and performance testing

Elevate and manage incidents appropriately, ensuring root cause analysis and remediation, participating in a monthly on-call 24/7 rotation

Act as an enabler for innovation in new tools, technologies, processes,and techniques

Key Outcomes:

To introduce processes, tools, and methodologies

To balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and updates.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a software engineering related field (or equivalent experience)

In-depth AWS experience running production workloads, migrations,and CI/CD pipelines

Experience using scripts to automate the configuration of services and tools via their APIs or SDKs with a background using

Pythonand other tools (e.g.,Power Shell, Bash)

Experience developing in a source-controlled workspace (e.g.,Git, SVN)

Experience with infrastructure-as-code approach to automating platform provisioning using

Cloud

Formation,Kubernetes,Helm,Pulumiand Terraform

Experience with build and deployment tools (e.g.,Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Code Deploy, Ansible)
