Evening Assistant Caretaker

Support the cleanliness and safety of École Van Walleghem School as an Evening Assistant Caretaker. This role focuses on custodial duties and works from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As an Assistant Caretaker, you will report directly to the Head Caretaker and assist with maintaining school facilities. Your responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting, and ensuring a comfortable environment for students and staff. A strong emphasis will be placed on your ability to operate cleaning equipment and communicate effectively with the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize various surfaces throughout the facility

• Maintain cleanliness of washrooms and refill dispensers

• Vacuum and steam clean carpets and furniture

• Report maintenance needs to the Head Caretaker

• Assist with setup for school events and activities

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience

• Custodial experience preferred

• Effective written and verbal English communication skills

• Good physical fitness to lift up to 20 kg

• Ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member
