Job Title : Seasonal Snow Removal Labourer
Reports to:
Manager, Airfield Services
Salary: $27.01 per hour
Type: Term position starting October 26, 2026 - mid/late April 2027
Closing Date: September 10, 2026
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Airfield Services, the Seasonal Snow Removal Labourer will be clearing snow and ice from airside machinery, signage, pedestrian walkways and exits. This role assists in providing a safe environment for aircraft, the travelling public and cargo at our 24-hour operation. This seasonal role is to maintain the airside/ground side area during the winter season. The terms will be in effect from which may be extended by mutual consent based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Removal of snow and ice from Airside bridge machinery, light fixtures, signage, pedestrian walkways and exits using a shovel, snow blower and skid steers
Application of ice control products and gravel as appropriate
Operation of snow blower and skid steer as required
Assist with shop cleanup and vehicle maintenance tasks
Operate airside vehicles within specified zones
Perform physical tasks including lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for 70-80% of the workday, bending and stooping for 20-30% of workday
Exposure to noise and vibration for 30-40% of the workday, and to environmental conditions such as snow, wind, rain, and cold temperatures for 50% of the workday
Selection Criteria include:
Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
Valid Class 5 driver’s license required (Class 3 with Air Brake endorsement is an asset) and clean driver’s abstract
Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operator Permit “D/A” (AVOP)
Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted radio/telephone license
Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
1-2 years’ experience operating snow removal and ice control equipment considered an asset
Knowledge or experience in airport operations is an asset
Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures
Physically capable of manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, shoveling snow and gravel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in varied environmental conditions
Effective oral and written communication, and strong interpersonal skills
Proven attendance, reliability, and strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office, including basic report preparation
Experience operating heavy-duty equipment is considered an asset
Willingness to work shift work in a 24/7 operational environment
