The Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall performance of their Homes Alive Pets store, leading a team of approximately 12-18 staff. The Store Manager sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, builds a strong and accountable team, and ensures their store runs efficiently from the sales floor to the back room.

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor leadership role. You'll spend the bulk of your time with your team and your guests, including coaching team members, jumping in wherever it's needed, and creating an exceptional experience for our guests.

• 5+ years of management experience in retail, grocery, or restaurant.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent).
• Emergency First Aid & CPR-AED certification. If not already held, this must be obtained by the end of the 3-month probationary period. Homes Alive Pets covers the cost of certification and renewal for active Store Managers.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an asset; we currently use RMH.
• Equipment certifications (e.g., ARPAC WAVE, Stacker) are provided on the job as needed; no prior certification required.

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience in every interaction, and set that standard for your store's culture.
• Lead, coach, and develop your team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and delegating responsibilities across Assistant Managers, Guest Service Representatives, Receivers, Stockers, and (where applicable) Overnight Stockers.
• Drive achievement of store KPIs, including sales targets, labour %, guest experience, and product facing & availability.
• Ensure high-quality presentation of floor inventory, including making sure product is organized and fully stocked.

• Hire, onboard, and train new staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and wage reviews.
• Manage accountability and discipline, including terminations when necessary, in line with company process.
• Build and maintain a positive, motivated store culture where staff want to grow and do their best work.
