Lead financial operations and staff support at the University of Manitoba, managing budgets, human resources, and administrative services. This Monday-to-Friday schedule provides 35 hours weekly.
As Business Manager, you will oversee the Institute’s $1.75 million operational budget and administrative functions. The work combines financial management, human resources, policy compliance, and office operations. You will collaborate with the Scientific Director, Senior Managers, Dean, Finance Office, CIHR, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and manage the Institute’s annual operational budget
- Monitor expenditures, cash flows, forecasts, and approved financial plans
- Prepare annual financial reports and CIHR expense reports
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and staff support processes
- Coordinate office, travel, events, equipment, and operational requirements
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent training in a related area
- Business administration or accounting training
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Experience supervising and coaching staff
- Experience with VIP, Aurora, FAST, and Concur
