Opportunity

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position accomplishes the activities of the Production department through efforts such as communicating and liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders while ensuring continuous improvement through cost reductions.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the production plan and schedule as set forth by management.
  • Communicate with Production and Purchasing to ensure outsourced material matches shop floor demand, meets specifications, and results in optimal material use and minimal off cut.
  • Maintain knowledge of the inventory required for upcoming orders by monitoring, tracking and inputting data into our ERP system.
  • Maintain production history for future forecasts.
  • Communicate inventory status and production plans to relevant departments such as Customer Service, Purchasing & Planning, and Production Supervision.
  • Provide support as needed for product manager and outside sales team.
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure required drawings and changes are completed.
  • Plan, monitor and drive inventory turn improvements and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Performs parts costing and reviewing labour/material variances on work orders.
  • Manage and minimize slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Input and manage Quality Notifications within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate inventory counts, count teams and WIP for physical inventory counts; reports inventory balances and shortages as required.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts as required and ensure that all adjustments are made.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings.
  • Determine the priority and coordinate the schedule for parts production orders and product changes.
  • Serve as back-up for creating production orders and adding drawings.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 Years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP scheduling systems;
    Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of scheduling experience within high-volume manufacturing.
