Job Description & How to Apply Below

Summit Search Group has been retained by Naleway Foods on the recruitment of their next Training and Compliance Practitioner. Naleway Foods is a Winnipeg-based frozen food manufacturer specializing in high-quality perogies and co‑packed products for major retail partners. With a strong reputation for consistency, food safety, and operational reliability, Naleway operates a collaborative, team‑based plant environment where leaders work closely across functions.

As the business continues to grow, driven by increased production demand and long‑standing customer relationships, the organization is focused on developing its next generation of plant leadership through hands‑on, internally grown talent.

The Training and Compliance Practitioner will play a critical role in strengthening workforce capability, improving operational discipline, and driving consistency across all areas of the plant. This is a highly visible, floor‑focused leadership position responsible for ensuring employees are properly trained, standard operating procedures (SOPs) are current, practical, and consistently followed, and that production activities are executed accurately and reliably day in and day out.

The role serves as a key link between systems and execution, ensuring that what is documented is effectively translated into daily practice on the floor.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in being hands‑on and present where the work happens. You will spend significant time on the production floor working directly with employees and supervisors to reinforce standards, identify and close training gaps, and improve overall execution. Success in this position requires a proactive approach to coaching, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to hold teams accountable while building trust and credibility.

You will work cross‑functionally with Production, QA/Food Safety, Maintenance, and the Management Team to support a more disciplined, capable, and reliable operation. By aligning training, SOPs, and day‑to‑day practices, you will help reduce variability, improve performance, and ensure the plant operates with a high level of consistency and confidence.

Responsibilities:
  • Own and lead all training systems and programs, including onboarding, skills development, and cross‑training to ensure a fully capable workforce
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and documented, with adequate backup coverage for all critical roles
  • Maintain and continuously improve SOPs and training materials, ensuring they are accurate, practical, and aligned with actual plant operations
  • Drive consistent execution of SOPs on the production floor, reinforcing adherence to formulations, procedures, and quality standards
  • Maintain a strong daily presence on the production floor, observing practices, identifying gaps, and correcting deviations in real time
  • Support supervisors and frontline leaders in enforcing consistency, accountability, and operational discipline
  • Partner with QA/Food Safety to support audit readiness, documentation, and compliance through training and follow‑up
  • Operate effectively within a unionized environment, ensuring policies are applied and properly documented
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment (food manufacturing considered an asset, but not required)
  • Demonstrated exposure to training, SOPs, or process standardization
  • Experience working in or alongside a unionized workforce is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with a systems‑oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail and ability to enforce standards consistently
  • Hands‑on, practical approach with credibility on the production floor
  • Collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production metrics (labour, yield, efficiency) are considered assets

Summit Search Group has a strong commitment to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. We strive for continuous development, modeling, inclusive behaviors and proactively managing bias throughout our process.
