- Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips, and inspect for damage or quality issues.
- Accurately document receiving transactions in the ERP or inventory management system.
- Prepare and package outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping instructions, customer specifications, and carrier requirements.
- Generate shipping documentation such as packing lists, bills of lading, and labels.
- Stage materials for production in accordance with production schedules and job orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment; follow all safety protocols and participate in regular safety training.
- Perform routine inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and support cycle count and physical inventory processes.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, including Production, Quality, and Purchasing, to ensure material availability and resolve any shipping/receiving issues.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in material flow, inventory accuracy, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Ensure that all information required for month‑end is processed in a timely manner.
- Handle freight claims as required.
- Generate NCRs for non‑conforming material and update the NCR tracking system when receiver activity assignments are complete.
- Schedule local pickups and deliveries with local driver.
- Fill out and submit purchase requisitions for department supplies.
- Order lumber and other shipping supplies as per established purchasing procedure.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training is a plus. Post‑secondary education is an asset.
- Enrollment in CITT/PLog designation is an asset.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, email).
- Certified to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks, or willing to obtain certification.
- 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Able to work flexible shifts.
