Job Title: Line Operator
Reports To: Team Leader
Manager: Manufacturing Excellence Manager

Position Type: Full-time

General Description

The Line Operator works across various areas of production and packaging. Responsibilities include handling product flow, packaging operations, sanitation during changeovers, and supporting overall line efficiency. This role requires attention to safety, product quality, and adherence to company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feed product onto tables and guide toward indexers (without pushing onto flights)
  • Load trays and ensure correct placement into tray wash buckets and trolleys
  • Dump product (“pops”) from trays into hoppers
  • Fill boxes with finished product and assist with palletizing
  • Monitor overwrap coding; stop the line if issues are identified
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues (e.g., taper issues)
  • Move full and empty racks to designated areas
  • Support line flow when stopped by repositioning racks and materials
  • Maintain cleanliness:
    Pick up fallen product and place in designated containers Sweep floors and remove waste Weigh and record waste into MQIS
  • Assist with product changeovers and general sanitation
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures; report concerns immediately
  • Complete required training as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work Environment

  • Exposure to strong odors and food allergens
  • Physically demanding: repetitive tasks, lifting 30–50 lbs, prolonged standing
  • Fast-paced production environment
  • Required to wear PPE at all times (hairnets, safety shoes, hard hats, earplugs)
  • Qualifications

    Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience is an asset
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Education

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Skills & Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
