Join the City of Selkirk team as a Utility Operator focused on vital water and wastewater operations. This permanent position requires both technical skills and hands-on maintenance duties in a dynamic environment.
We are seeking a qualified Utility Operator who will manage operations at our treatment facilities while ensuring compliance with provincial regulations. The role involves conducting tests, maintaining accurate records, and being prepared for on-call shifts for emergencies. You will aid in training others and support project needs as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and operate treatment facility equipment
• Conduct essential water quality testing daily
• Maintain logs and reports for operations
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs
• Respond to emergencies within the required timeframe
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Level II Wastewater Treatment and Distribution Certifications
• Minimum four years' experience in similar roles
• Proficient in SCADA and PLC systems
• Must fulfill safety certifications and requirements
