Operator Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor duties in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while working under tight production deadlines.
• Arrange cases on a pallet, wrap and label loads.
• Use a PIV to move WIP and finished goods to palletizer.
• Occasionally move stacks of cartons from pallets and place them into the feeder of the gluing machine/press.
• Perform quality checks on the cartons according to SOPs.
• Correctly label corrugated cases.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Safely perform all tasks on and around the equipment.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

• Prior exposure to a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools is preferred.
• Strong dexterity and hand‑eye coordination are required.
• Must be able to keep up with production needs in a fast‑paced, high‑speed machinery environment.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) are required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods with frequent twisting, bending, push/pull and repetitive tasks.
• Routine lifting and occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs.) are required.
• Effective communication skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
• Adhere to all company general policies and processes as well as safety policies and government legislation (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act).

Successful candidates must be able to work all shifts, including but not limited to days, afternoons, evenings, rotating shifts, weekends and statutory holidays, in a 24/7 continuous operation environment. Candidates unable to meet this requirement will not be considered for the role.
