Material Handler
As a Material Handler
, you are the link between inventory and production. Your work ensures that the right materials are available at the right place and the right time so production can operate efficiently and customers receive their orders on schedule. You help maintain inventory accuracy, support production flow, identify shortages before they become problems, and contribute directly to on-time delivery performance. Your attention to detail and commitment to organization play a critical role in the success of our operations.
Areas of Influence Material Movement and Production Support
- Deliver materials to production workstations and departments.
- Ensure production teams have the materials required to complete scheduled work.
- Support production flow by maintaining timely material replenishment.
- Coordinate movement of materials between inventory and production areas.
- Assist with staging materials for upcoming production requirements.
- Complete inventory transactions accurately and promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory locations and records.
- Support cycle counting and inventory verification activities.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining inventory integrity throughout the facility.
- Pick materials according to Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Prepare kits for production jobs.
- Verify quantities and part numbers prior to release.
- Ensure kits are complete and production‑ready.
- Support efficient material availability for manufacturing teams.
- Maintain clean, organized, and clearly identified inventory locations.
- Follow established material storage procedures.
- Ensure inventory is properly labeled and stored.
- Support warehouse housekeeping and 5S initiatives.
- Assist with inventory location improvements.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and responsibly.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents, and near misses.
- Support safe material storage and handling practices.
- Maintain compliance with all workplace safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve material flow and efficiency.
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in inventory and warehouse improvement projects.
- Contribute ideas that improve safety, accuracy, and productivity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials safely.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Consistently verifies quantities, locations, and part numbers to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks and follows through on commitments.
- Maintains clean, orderly, and efficient inventory locations and work areas.
- Works collaboratively with production, warehouse, and supply‑chain teams to achieve operational goals.
- Identifies shortages, discrepancies, and material issues and helps find solutions quickly.
