Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Production, the Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules to support on-time delivery, optimize resource utilization, and align with customer demand. This role works cross-functionally with Sales and Production to ensure plans are realistic, achievable, and aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Acts as primary point of contact for schedule-related communication
- Develop, manage, maintain and own master production schedule based on sales orders, forecasts, and inventory levels
- Analyzes production and planning data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure materials and components are available to meet production timelines
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays, supply issues, or changes in priority
- Identify, proactively resolve and report to management regarding scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks to minimize revenue risk
- Maintain accurate records of production plans, work orders, and schedule changes
- Provide regular updates and reports on production status, risks, and delivery commitments
- Develops contingency plans for supply disruptions, equipment downtime, or demand changes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and production efficiency
- Ensure alignment with company quality standards and operational procedures
- Accountable for achieving schedule adherence, on-time delivery targets, and minimizing production disruptions
- Other duties as assigned
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or a similar manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production planning principles, inventory management, and supply chain coordination
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices is an asset
