Operate table, shop, and radial arm saws at Star Building Materials in Winnipeg, cutting lumber accurately to order specifications.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Saw Operator cuts lumber using varied saws and follows Qualico's Safety Program. The work includes reading instructions, calculating materials, inspecting quality, and setting up equipment. Strong organization, communication, and listening support daily production.
Key Responsibilities:- Review work instructions and determine required lumber
- Examine work orders and set up equipment properly
- Saw lumber to specified dimensions and angles
- Inspect quality and store lumber in designated areas
- Replenish and organize raw materials at the station
- Six months operating table, shop, and radial arm saws
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Middle school completion
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Attention to detail and situational awareness
