About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team; someone who is energized by business storytelling, media relations and helping organizations build and protect the reputations of both their companies and products across Canada’s diverse media and stakeholder landscape.

In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues and clients across the agriculture, financial, food, healthcare and B2B space. You’ll help deliver thoughtful, high-quality communications programs that support business goals and strengthen stakeholder trust.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, takes pride in impactful communications, and is motivated by being part of a team that values ideas, initiative and collaboration. Experience in Agribusiness and/or a genuine interest in Agribusiness is a must. If you’re someone who likes to stay informed, think strategically and contribute meaningfully every day, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring the North American news landscape and identifying relevant issues, opportunities and emerging conversations for clients.
  • Developing thoughtful media pitches, story ideas and angles that resonate with business, financial and trade media.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists and other key external stakeholders.
  • Supporting day-to-day client interactions with professionalism, responsiveness and sound judgment.
  • Bringing forward ideas and recommendations to help address client challenges and advance communications objectives.
  • Managing the day-to-day running of key accounts, including timelines, project trackers, budgets and deliverables.
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members by sharing your skills, experience and perspective.
  • Supporting new business efforts through research, competitive analysis, stakeholder assessment and proposal development.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada indefinitely.

Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of experience in client service and/or corporate communications, with exposure to multiple industries such as agribusiness, financial, industrial and healthcare.
  • A genuine interest in the world of business and current affairs, with a strong understanding of key corporate, financial and industry trade media, along with some experience and/or an interest in Agribusiness.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
  • Experience developing media pitches and securing coverage through strong story angles and relationship-building.
  • Experience working within integrated communications programs, with an understanding of how earned media connects to owned, paid, social, and sponsored content.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with a range of colleagues and clients.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a calm, thoughtful approach to navigating challenges.
  • The ability to think ahead, anticipate needs and stay organized in a busy environment.
  • Strong project‑management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • A desire to keep learning, growing and building new skills.
  • A passion for building and supporting team culture.
  • An understanding of budget management and account administration.
  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
