The Role:

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for crafting engaging content that expands the reach and awareness of Second Harvest's brand. With a focus on writing, this role will support the development and execution of a wide range of communications activities, ensuring our organization’s voice is consistent and compelling across all platforms. We are looking for a polished and passionate storyteller, who is savvy with both established and emerging digital content platforms.
Your Impact:
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications department in the planning, development and implementation of communications strategies.
Plan, draft and deliver captivating communications pieces such as newsletters, presentations, proposal decks and reports.
Support senior staff with day-to-day internal and external communications, ensuring clarity and consistency.
Research and gather relevant information to effectively respond to media inquiries.
Craft compelling digital communications, including social media posts, blogs and emails, to engage our audience.
Maintain a unified and authentic brand voice across all channels, adhering to established guidelines and standards.
Work collaboratively across the organization to meet communication needs and achieve brand goals.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop relevant SEO content that enhances our online presence.
Contribute to the planning and execution of communication deliverables for events.
Support in the creation and maintenance of the annual communications calendar.
Identify and leverage opportunities to strategically channel communication plans for maximum impact, staying current with best practices, technologies and trends.
Respond to inquiries from individuals, journalists and other organizations, as required.
Gather information and data to support spokespeople in media interviews.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.
