Licensed Practical Nurse D​/E; Selkirk

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse 0.7 D/E (Selkirk)
Position Summary  Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The LPN offers clinical direction to Health Care Aides and other LPNs when assigned charge responsibilities and adheres to the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, CLPNM scope of practice, and relevant legislation.
Qualifications   Active practising licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) or eligible for active licensure.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
Knowledge, competence, and ability to demonstrate clinical nursing skills in accordance with approved nursing standards.
Basic computer and electronic software proficiency.
Experience in geriatrics and dementia care (preferred).
Strong decision‑making for nursing care.
Effective problem‑solving, organization, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Clear communication skills.
Critical‑thinking skills.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, residents, and the public.
Proficiency in English; additional language skills considered an asset.

Physical Requirements  Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
Background and Screening  This position requires a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Successful candidates will be responsible for any service charges incurred; a current check is valid if obtained no more than six (6) months prior to employment.
