Position: Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) - Summit Place Retirement - Part Time )

Responsibilities
Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders, and administrative policies, and observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents/patients. Assure observance of required nursing care techniques.
Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans. Monitor health, note changes in condition, and assess the need for referral to doctors and process and implement physicians’ orders.
Qualifications
Appropriate current certificate of competence from an approved institution for the province.
Registration or eligibility for registration with an approved institution for the province.
Previous managerial experience in long‑term care or community home‑care preferred.
Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health‑care practices, including infection control practices.
Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
Ability to present information clearly and effectively both verbally, whether in person or over the phone, and in writing; an active listener who projects a friendly demeanor.
Ability to collect and use information to thoroughly think through problems and situations; put information from various sources together to see the big picture and generate creative solutions.
Organizational, planning, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills.
Compensation
$26.87 – $31.18 per hour.
