Registered Practical Nurse – Weston Terrace Community – Toronto

Rate of Pay: $33.45 (as per collective agreement)

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse plays a critical role within the community, impacting the lives of residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
  • Oversee resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and provide guidance to staff.
  • Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit.
  • Handle admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents.
Qualifications
  • Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
  • Experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry is an asset.
  • Good judgement, ability to identify risk, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
