Emergency Department Psychiatric Nurse

Enhance mental health support as an Emergency Department Psychiatric Liaison Nurse, providing expert assessments and crisis management. This role requires a minimum of 3 years of acute mental health experience.

This position is centered on delivering mental health care within the Emergency Department. As a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse, you will conduct thorough patient assessments, risk evaluations, and care planning. Collaboration with inpatient units is essential, leveraging your psychiatric nursing skills to aid patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments for ED patients

• Conduct suicide risk and crisis intervention assessments

• Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the team

• Provide support to families experiencing emotional stress

• Offer mental health consultation services to inpatient units

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of acute mental health experience

• Graduate of an approved Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing program

• Current registration with CRNM or CRPNM

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of community resources for mental health
