New Grant‑Funded Continuing Part‑Time, 0–20.00 hours/week Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:00 pm. Salary Range: $41.01–$50.30 per hour. Proposed

- Performs hemo‑dialysis as scheduled.
- Participates in specialty clinics locally or in urban centers as scheduled.
- Performs routine primary‑care treatments, including foot assessments and dressings, removal of sutures, administration of IM and SC injections, and screening for early signs of renal failure and/or diabetes problems.
- Liaises with primary‑care clinic staff, physicians, consultants, social workers, community health nurses, clinic administration, dietitians, university researchers, and other university staff regarding clinic and patient‑care issues.
- Assists patients with completion of medical forms if necessary.
- Teaches other staff regarding triage of renal‑patient problems.
- Contacts patients for return appointments and notification of results as directed.
- Maintains necessary supplies and appropriate file systems and records.
- Develops and maintains clearly written policies and procedures, logs, and records for all areas of clinic activities.
- Provides outreach teaching and screening to all Island Lake communities.
- Liaises with primary‑care staff, public health, physicians and consultants, social workers, dietitians, and other community resources to determine patient and staff learning needs.
- Minimum formal education/training required: LPN with current CLPNM registration without restrictions, or RN/BN with current CRNM registration without restrictions.
- Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course required (training provided through MNNC if required). Return‑of‑service commitment required if MNNC training is being provided.
- Current Basic Life Support certification required.
- One to two years renal nursing experience preferred, preferably in a northern clinic or related health‑care setting.
- Acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Skills & abilities: demonstrated good judgement, self‑motivated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, diplomacy, professionalism, sensitivity to cultural issues, initiative, ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, familiarity with community and culture, ability to teach, computer skills (Word processing and database familiarity an asset), experience with nutrition and lifestyle counselling desired, satisfactory work record.
