Registered Psychiatric Nurse N2 - Intensive Treatment Service
Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager Health Services, the Nurse is responsible for the delivery of direct client care, the planning, implementation, and evaluation of client treatment plans; the administration and evaluation of medications and health care procedures; the provision of therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management; the establishment of professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and community; and community resource identification and utilization.
Responsibilities- Provide direct client care.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate client treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management.
- Administer and monitor effects of medications and related health‑care procedures.
- Collaborate with families and community supports to meet client needs.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships within the inter‑professional team and community.
- Identify and access community resources.
- Experience in psychiatry is essential.
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health experience preferred.
Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing. (B.Sc.P.N.,
B.Sc. M.H. or
B.Sc.N. preferred).
- Maintain and provide proof of active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active participation in professional associations (e.g., Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba) preferred.
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
Background Check RequirementsThis position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
