Acute Pain Nurse - Health Sciences Centre

Become an Acute Pain Nurse with the Health Sciences Centre and focus on post-operative patient care in Manitoba. Engage in quality improvement initiatives while collaborating with healthcare teams for optimal pain management.

This position reports to the Director of Acute Pain Service and requires at least three years of clinical experience in Acute Surgery, Anesthesia, or Intensive Care. Key responsibilities involve assisting with regional blocks, coordinating pain management, and supporting clinical trials for continuous improvement in patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend to patients' pain management needs post-operatively

• Assist anesthetists in setting up regional catheters

• Lead interdisciplinary approaches to improve patient care

• Identify quality improvement opportunities and implement plans

• Coordinate effectively with healthcare team members

Requirements:

• Minimum three years clinical experience in relevant fields

• Graduate from an approved Nursing School

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred

• Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba

• Completion of Intensive Care or Post-Anesthesia Program preferred
