Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager, this Clinical Practice Nurse – Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. Responsibilities include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leading the care team, and coordinating patient care and discharge.
Experience- Recent Surgical Nursing experience required.
- Nurses currently working on the unit will be deemed qualified.
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations, e.g., Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), preferred.
- Successful scheduled and completion of the Advanced Assessment Course when offered by the employer, or as otherwise mutually agreed.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- If no applicants meet the specified qualifications, the employer may consider an applicant who does not meet all listed qualifications.
Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check are required as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Interviewed candidates may be asked to participate in a skills assessment.
