Psychiatric Liaison Nurse at Shared Health

Provide essential mental health support as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse with Shared Health in Winnipeg. This role involves crisis intervention and care planning in the fast-paced Emergency Department.

As a key member of the Emergency team at Health Sciences Centre, you’ll leverage your acute mental health expertise to assess patients effectively. Your tasks include collaborating with ED nurses, conducting suicide risk assessments, and creating comprehensive care plans. Your involvement will support both patients and families navigating stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments for emergency patients

• Provide crisis intervention and mental health care

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Guide ED staff in mental health treatment strategies

• Offer consultation and education to patients and families

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years acute mental health experience

• Graduate of an approved nursing program

• Registration with CRNM or CRPNM required

• Previous Emergency Department experience preferred

• Strong communication and teaching skills
