Health Sciences Centre Psychiatric Nurse Position

Shared Health is looking for a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. This essential role combines mental health expertise and crisis intervention in emergency settings, focusing on patient-centered care and support.

You will work in the fast-paced environment of the Adult Emergency department, delivering mental healthcare to patients experiencing crises. Candidates must have a minimum of three years in acute mental health, alongside expertise in therapeutic communication and psychiatric assessment.

Your role will be vital in providing tailored care and coordinating with nursing staff to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out psychiatric assessments in emergency settings

• Develop and implement personalized care plans

• Provide crisis intervention and support to ED patients

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care

• Offer education and resources to patients and families

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of acute mental health nursing experience

• Experience in an Emergency Department is preferred

• Graduate from a recognized nursing program

• Active registration with CRNM or equivalent

• Strong interpersonal and teaching skills
