The Town of Fort Smith is seeking  two motivated professionals  for the position of Community Services Assistant I. Reporting to the Recreation and Special Events Coordinator, the position is responsible for customer service, facility bookings, cash handling and daily cash out reports, user statistics, maintaining files and records, monitoring patrons and attendees, and ensuring facilities and equipment are clean and safe.

Key Responsibilities   Process bookings and memberships and provide customer service to patrons.
Use the cash register and complete cashouts.
Open and close the recreation centre and complete security checks.
Ensure proper patron behaviour and enforce Health and Safety policies.
Assist with cleaning, waste and debris removal, and event setup and cleanup.
Assist with the preparation and delivery of programs.
Provide direction and assistance to patrons and instruct them on rules and guidelines.
Assist with facility and equipment setup, breakdown, and storage.
Collect and generate user statistics and maintain files and records.
Education & Skills   Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
Experience in the creation, implementation and/or delivery of programs is an asset.
First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
Satisfactory Vulnerable Record Check is required.
Ability to perform lifting, pulling, and manage equipment and objects.
Ability to take initiative and complete tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
Shift, evening, weekend and statutory holiday work is required.
