Technician - Technician 3 (CUPE 1482)
New Budget-Funded Project Part-Time 0 to 35.00 hours/week Monday to Friday, variable schedule
Salary Range: $22.73 - $32.72 per hour Proposed

- Assist primary researcher to evaluate and test algorithms which have been identified for reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided wireless communications.
- Assist primary researcher in preparing simulation experiments using MATLAB, PyTorch, and Python.
- Assist primary researcher to document the simulation codes.
- Assist primary researcher to run simulations.
- Assist primary researcher to prepare research reports and articles.
- Assist the research group members of primary researcher in accessing the computing facilities (e.g. servers) - Other duties as :
MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Graduation from a recognized Community College Technology course or the appropriate journey (m/f) certification is required.
- MSc in Electrical Engineering preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Good experience of programming in Python, MATLAB is required.
- Background and understanding of antenna theory preferred.
- Previous experience with signal processing algorithms, and RIS technology would be an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Good understanding of machine learning models is required.
- Proficient in technical writing is required.
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate with researchers is required.
- Ability to work independently running programming codes and analyzing data is required.
- Ability to prepare written reports representing findings is required.
