The Research Coordinator will be co-supervised by the Department of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation and the Department of Marine. The position will coordinate the planning, administration and implementation of research activities and workshops to inform the advancement of Inuit Self-Determination in research in Nunavut. The Research Coordinator will support the Department of RME and Marine in advancing Inuit Self-Determination in research through the coordination and implementation of approved activities that aim to build Inuit Capacity in health and marine research and inform the implementation of the National Inuit Strategy on Research (NISR).

To be invited for an interview; have a diploma or degree in research or health or marine-related discipline or a combination of education/training and relevant work experience; experience in project management, project coordination, financial administration, or other relevant skills; good knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement and sensitivity to local, political and cultural context in Nunavut;
Good understanding of Inuit values and principles, especially as it relates to research and training;
Strong interpersonal skills; effective communication and listening skills;
Ability to work independently and co-operatively with a variety of individuals and groups with diverse perspectives;
Ability to speak Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun, or willingness to learn is a requirement.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $82,703.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
