Field Archaeologist

Position: Field Archaeologist at KGS Group

KGS Group is looking for a knowledgeable Archaeologist to strengthen its Ecology and Environmental Impact Assessment team. This position involves acting as a permit holder, leading Heritage Resource Impact Assessments, and managing small teams. A key aspect of the role is supervising fieldwork while communicating effectively with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a recognized permit holder for provincial regulators

• Supervise Heritage Resource Impact Assessments across Manitoba

• Conduct various archaeological fieldwork, including surveys

• Manage quality control for small fieldwork teams

• Collaborate on logistics with project management teams

Requirements:

• Four-year or master’s degree in archaeology

• Minimum 1 year of experience in archaeological field methods

• Ability to endure diverse outdoor conditions

• Valid driver’s license required

• Remote fieldwork experience is advantageous
