This term position is designed for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science, offering hands-on experience with plant cultivation and soil treatments. You will apply zinc treatments to mitigate cadmium accumulation and utilize hyperspectral imaging to monitor plant health. This role is essential for advancing research related to plant biochemistry and environmental health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare research equipment and nurture plants in a greenhouse
• Conduct experiments applying Zn solutions and measure Cd levels
• Monitor plant growth and document research findings
• Source research materials and supplies as needed
• Assist with other assigned duties in the lab
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a Faculty of Science undergraduate program
• Experience growing plants in a greenhouse is preferred
• Prior lab experience with potting and nurturing plants
• Knowledge of hyperspectral imaging technology is advantageous
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada with a valid MB driver’s license
