Join the University of Manitoba as a Biological Research Technician specializing in food science. This full-time role offers a chance to engage in groundbreaking research on cereals and grains.
The technician position is grant-funded, running from June 2026 to June 2027. You will carry out laboratory analyses, support research studies on grain properties, and train students on lab practices. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring precise research results and facilitating a safe lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on cereals and grains analysis
• Analyze physical properties of grain-derived foods
• Measure and analyze enzyme activities in cereals
• Maintain laboratory analytical instruments effectively
• Provide training on safety and waste management
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field
• Preferred experience in empirical rheology
• Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
