The University of Winnipeg is seeking a Research Assistant for mosquito wing measurement from June 30 to August 7, 2026. This term role involves using a Leica dissecting microscope to ensure accuracy in capturing mosquito data. Candidates with a background in Ectoparasitology (BIOL-3703) or relevant experience will excel in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Measure mosquito wings using a Leica dissecting microscope
• Enter data into an Excel spreadsheet database
• Rear larval mosquitoes under supervision
Requirements:
• Completion of BIOL-3703 (Ectoparasitology)
• Experience with imaging software and data capture
• Ability to work independently in a small lab
• Familiarity with mosquito wing measurement protocols
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
