Qualifications

MINIMAL FORMAL

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Masters degree in a related study area.

OR

  • Bachelors degree or completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with three years = directly-related experience.
  • PhD level degree and formal academic training or previous childhood adversity research experience and program evaluation is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Recent experience working with qualitative and quantitative data childhood adversity data, including but not limited to surveys and systematic or scoping reviews is required.
  • Experience with program evaluation methods is required.
  • Experience working in and coordinating large teams, experience supervising student research assistants.
  • Experience in literature syntheses of interdisciplinary bodies of literature related to childhood adversity and health.
  • Experience with grant preparation, REB submissions, manuscript submission, oral and research posters required.
  • Experience with academic and non-academic writing (e.g., Online blogs) and website management an asset.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrate attention to detail is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines are required
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
Key responsibilities

Research:

  • Coordinate execution of data collection, analysis and data synthesis related activities for program evaluation using both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Contribute to development of research methods and protocols for program evaluation.
  • Coordinate development of research databases for program evaluation.
  • Coordinate preparation of research report two times per year.
  • Coordinate and contribute to participant recruitment and informed consent from research partners and students in the program.
  • Draft oral and poster presentations.
  • Coordinate and contribute to manuscript submissions.
  • Supervise student research assistants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Administrative support:

  • Orient new staff and trainees.
  • Coordinate meetings and activities of co-investigators, advisory committees, and other personnel involved in research projects.
  • Liaise with university resources (Research Services Office, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Provide research and other support (as directed by supervisor) for graduate students and other assistants.
  • May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
