Job Summary

If you're interested in a Plant Health Field Research Assistant job, then this is the best role for you! The Plant Health Field Research Assistant supports field research activities by collecting disease data in canola disease nurseries and assisting with other research tasks. This temporary role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions.

The position also requires adherence to safety procedures and collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team.

Job Description
  • Assist with disease data collection in canola disease nurseries.
  • Perform additional research-related duties as assigned.
  • Follow all safety rules and standard operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with research team members.
  • Maintain accurate and organized field data.
Skills Required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new procedures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust.

  • Familiarity with plant breeding and field research methodologies.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • Degree or diploma in Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to pass criminal background checks
  • Start Time: 08:00 AM
  • Must be available to work 8 hours per day.
  • Must be available to work overtime during weekdays and weekends as required.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors at field research sites under varying weather conditions.
Pay Rate/Salary
  • Estimated Salary: $22.45 to $30.45 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
