Led by multiple CIHR institutes, this funding opportunity invites research teams to contribute to understanding the adverse health effects of UPFs. Emphasis will be on biological mechanisms, health impacts in vulnerable populations, and the structural factors influencing food choices. This is a chance to align health equity efforts with scientific discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate the link between UPFs and chronic diseases
• Analyze dietary patterns related to UPF intake
• Collaborate to identify effective health interventions
• Contribute to community-engagement strategies
• Prepare to meet Final date to receive applicationss and requirements
Requirements:
• Nominated Principal Applicant must affiliate with a Canadian institution
• Team should incorporate diverse perspectives
• Successful completion of Sex and Gender training
• Evidence of prior research experience in relevant fields
• Inclusion of Indigenous perspectives for applicable projects
The outcomes will inform Canada’s health policies and combat the effects of ultra-processed foods.
