Salary: $23.13 to $33.29 per hour ($42,096.60 to $60,587.80 per annum)

Qualifications
MINIMAL FORMAL

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in a related study area such as psychology or other social science, including laboratory analysis techniques.

OR

Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one years = directly-related experience.

OR

High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly-related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with confidential patient health care data is required.

Experience in a mental health environment (preferably university-based) is preferred .

Experience working in a research environment is preferred.

Experience working with research participants is preferred.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to carry out research procedures under general direction and to keep within budget and schedule guidelines is required.

Ability to travel to various sites in Winnipeg and across the province is required.

Ability and willingness to learn new techniques and administer specific phases of projects are required.

Must have proficiency intheuseof shorthand and/or recording equipment to transcribe when required.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team is required.

Effectivecommunicationskills, both written andverbalarerequired.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

Mustbe able to complete assigned tasks accurately and meet deadlines is required.

Strong organizational and time-management s kills are required .

Ability to pay attention to details and follow instructions is required .

Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of PIPPA and PHIA is required.

A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience with REDCap and SPSS i s preferred .

Experience with electronic health records preferred .

Key responsibilities
Administration :

Meets regularly with Researchers to discuss study progress, issues and status, and quality of data collection.

Ensures smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.

Provides updates and progress reports to members of the research team and stakeholders.

Prepares documents for ethic review, privacy and data access applications.

Coordinates research meeting schedules and bookings.

Updates stakeholder lists and contact information.

Assisting with clinical and quality improvement tasks when required.

Participates in meetings.

Scientific Analysis, Reading and writing :

Conducts literature reviews for research papers andgrants.

Drafts reports to stakeholders and granting agencies.

Assistswithpreparationofreportsandpublicationsincludingdevelopingmaterials,e.g.,posters,slideshows,etc.,forpresentationsof projects/research.

Runs basis statistical analysis in programs such as SPSS, SAS, orSTATA.

Assists the department on data submission requirements, including frequency and format.

Ensures data integrity by performing rigorous cleaning, error checking, and validation.

Contributes to research analysis, including interpretation and preparation of research repo1is, as well as assisting with writing of grant proposals.

Travels to conferences to present research findings when required.

Laboratory experiments:

Providescoordinationofresearchandqualityimprovementstudies,includingobservationalstudies,surveys,in-person questionnaires,qualitative interviews, and cha1ireviews.

Creates and maintains REDCap databases for multiple projects.

Recruits participants for research studies including obtaining consent from them and booking appointments.

Collectsdataforresearchandqualityimprovementprojects(includes,butnotlimitedto,conducting open-endedindividualinterviews,focus group interviews,participant observation,administering questionnaires,andcollectingadditional informationfromselectedrecords).

Developsandmaintainsstudy materials including assent/consent forms,data collection tools,casereportforms,source documents,andother research project related materials.

Monitorstheprogressofresearchactivities;developsandmaintainsrecordsofresearchactivities,preparingperiodicandadhocrepo1isasrequired by investigators, administrators and funding agencies.

Maintains data files in accordance with ethical guidelines.

Travels to sites within Winnipeg and the province for research studies.

May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
