Overnight Freight Associate Part-Time - St. Vital

Freight Team Associates are responsible for stocking merchandise, organizing the sales floor to create a pleasant and safe shopping environment, and providing customer service as required by customer demand. They operate reach trucks, forklifts and order picker machines to bring merchandise to the sales floor. Associates pick orders, carefully pack them to avoid damage, label and place orders into specified holding areas.

• Stock merchandise onto shelves to achieve 100% in stock.
• Pack-out and pack-down merchandise as directed.
• Merchandise new items and promotions.
• Maintain aisle cleanliness and shoppability to ensure merchandise is accessible and visually appealing.
• Organize and maintain overheads (e.g., striping overheads).
• Communicate with other freight team members to ensure products are stocked in the proper area.
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction by following Home Depot’s Get Model of Customer Service, including greeting, engaging, and thanking the customer.
• Ask open-ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Maintain safety and security by moving freight safely from designated staging areas to overheads or down from overheads using appropriate equipment.
• Ensure customers can move through aisles easily and safely.

Physical Requirements
:
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, moving items, climbing ladders up to 12–16 feet to obtain or stock merchandise.

Working Conditions
:
Adaptable schedule that includes overnight shift and may include evenings and weekends. Warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy; forklifts emit gas fumes; doors are frequently open causing drafts and interior temperature changes.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 to 2 years Retail or Distribution experience (asset)
• Knowledge of operating reach trucks, forklifts, and order picker machines (asset)
• No minimum leadership experience required
