A.S.P. is looking for Baggage Cart and Drop Attendants to provide an exceptional passenger experience while guiding customers throughout the parking lot, parkade, and within the terminal at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. Baggage Attendants are committed to providing the highest level of quality service and continuing our track record of outstanding safety and customer satisfaction.
What you will do:- Demonstrate a welcoming and approachable demeanor, actively seeking to engage with passengers and always delivering a smile and eye contact.
- Greet customers in official languages (“Hello/Bonjour”) and respond to Canada’s official language requirements, providing direction, exceptional customer service, and assistance to all passengers.
- Actively offer physical assistance with loading and unloading luggage.
- Offer guidance and way‑finding information to oversize bag drop areas and pre‑board screening areas. Possess agility and stamina to stand/walk for extended durations and lift baggage.
- Monitor the area to ensure public safety around moving conveyor and ensuring all baggage has tags for travel.
- Monitor baggage cart serviceability, recognize unserviceable carts and segregate them for maintenance or refurbishment.
- Collect and stage baggage tubs in the arrival hall, bag room, and departure hall.
- Monitor the BIWIZ operation during transborder operations.
- Practice safety‑conscious behaviours and situational awareness.
- Actively monitor the parkades and lots for tidiness, safety, operational readiness and be an active presence to prevent accidents, damage, or vandalism.
- Respond to any dispatch call pertaining to parking equipment, card traffic, ticket stock replenishment, or troubleshooting as needed.
- Answer inquiries regarding flight schedules, fares, and other questions that arise.
- Have a basic understanding of airport campus operations and the roles and responsibilities of tenants/airlines, YWG, and One Call.
- Minimum high‑school diploma or Grade 12 education (equivalent experience accepted).
- Fully bilingual in both French and English an asset; basic French knowledge required.
- Minimum of one year verifiable experience in customer service or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Physically capable of performing all duties described in the job/position description.
- Can lift 70 pounds (32 kg) on a regular basis.
- Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Able to work a 24/7 rotation shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Willing to provide a criminal record check upon request.
- Can obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Expected compensation: $16.75 - $17.30 per hour.
- The compensation range reflects base hourly pay; overtime and premiums are not included.
