Join Selkirk Mental Health Centre’s Security team dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff. This position involves crisis response and interaction with patients in recovery.
In this healthcare-focused Security Officer role, you will ensure the wellbeing of staff, patients, and visitors within Selkirk Mental Health Centre's unique treatment environment. Your responsibilities include conducting safety inspections and utilizing security equipment to effectively monitor premises. Weekend and holiday shifts are necessary for comprehensive coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safety for approximately 700 staff and 252 patients
• Assist patients in their recovery and reintegration
• Conduct pre-landing inspections before patient transfers
• Operate security tech, including CCTV and radios
• Maintain confidentiality in reporting incidents
Requirements:
• Completion of high school education per Manitoba Standards
• Security Officer Training diploma preferred
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence needed
• Manitoba Security Guard licence required
• Clear criminal record and Vulnerable Sector Search
Provide essential security services while supporting mental health recovery at Selkirk Mental Health Centre.
