Position Overview
Hawkeye Security Group is currently seeking experienced Retail Tactical Security Guards to join our team in Winnipeg. This position is designed for security professionals who can maintain a strong visible presence, deter criminal activity, identify security risks, and respond effectively to incidents in a retail environment.
Qualifications
Required:
Valid Manitoba Security Guard Licence (or ability to obtain one)
Strong observation and situational awareness skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional report‑writing abilities
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred:
Minimum 1 year of retail security experience
Loss Prevention experience
Experience in healthcare security, corrections, law enforcement, military, or related fields
Use of Force, Crisis Intervention, Mental Health, or De‑escalation training
Responsibilities
Maintain a highly visible tactical security presence
Conduct proactive patrols of assigned retail locations
Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas
Observe, identify, and report suspicious activity
Deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and disruptive behaviour
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies
Assist with investigations and evidence preservation when required
Complete detailed and accurate incident reports
Communicate effectively with management, clients, law enforcement, and emergency responders
Apply conflict resolution and de‑escalation techniques when necessary
Follow all company policies, client procedures, and applicable legislation
