Be part of Selkirk Mental Health Centre’s mission to provide safe and secure treatment environments. This role requires active monitoring and crisis management for patient care.
As a Security Officer at Selkirk Mental Health Centre, you will ensure the safety of over 700 staff and 252 patients.
Your role involves performing pre-landing inspections and assisting during patient transfers, all while fostering a secure and supportive atmosphere. Expect to work flexible weekend hours to meet facility needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Protect staff, patients, families, and visitors at the facility
• Respond actively to emergency situations with respect
• Perform pre-landing inspections and aid in crisis
• Utilize security equipment including CCTV and communication devices
• Report incidents while preserving confidentiality
Requirements:
• High school education as per Manitoba Standards
• Security Officer Training diploma or relevant experience
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence mandatory
• Required Manitoba Security Guard licence or future license
• Comprehensive criminal background and Vulnerable Sector Checks
