Director of Security Services at WRHA

Lead security innovation with the WRHA as the Director of Protective Services. This role focuses on healthcare security programs, standards, and employee training to safeguard public safety.

The Director Protective Services supports the WRHA by developing comprehensive healthcare security protocols. You will oversee security systems, conduct threat risk assessments, and manage both contract and in-house security personnel training. Collaborate with the Provincial Protection Services Director to maintain safety and order across regional healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop regional healthcare security programs and standards

• Conduct threat risk assessments for security planning

• Manage training for contracted and in-house security employees

• Oversee personnel management and departmental administration

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum seven years of police or security management experience

• Five years in a unionized security department required

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields is mandatory

• Proven human resources and communication skills

• Eligibility for “Institutional Security Officer” appointment
