The WRHA Community Health and Corporate Services Volunteer Program provides meaningful public engagement, develops partnerships, mobilizes volunteers, supports a positive working environment and enhances the WRHA's capacity to support and deliver quality services.

Volunteer : 6129
Scope: Recruiting volunteers for schools in the following Winnipeg community areas:
Inkster, Seven Oaks, River East, and St. James.
Location: Various schools in Winnipeg.
Summary of Duties: Assist with guiding students (grades 6–8) through immunization clinics, crowd control, monitoring anxious students, and monitoring post‑immunization. Clinics operate Monday–Friday during school hours (8:15 am–3:30 pm). Shift length 3–4 hours. Fall clinics mid‑September to November, Spring clinics April to mid‑June.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students through the clinic process.
- Help with crowd control and maintain order.
- Observe students who appear anxious or scared.
- Monitor students after immunization.
- Support staff and maintain a positive environment.
Skills Required:
- Current (within 6 months) satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Willingness to attend virtual WRHA volunteer orientation and role‑specific training.
- Experience interacting with children/youth is an asset.
- Comfortable approaching children/youth in a friendly, supportive manner and with diverse backgrounds.
- Physically able to stand for up to 3–4 hours.
Time Commitment: Minimum of 4–5 shifts per campaign. Clinics Monday–Friday, 8:15 am–3:30 pm.
Age Range: 18–30, 31–54, 55+.
